Scratchboard Pet Portraits

Sizes

I offer custom art in the following sizes:

5" x 7"

8" x 10"

(Others available upon request)

Scratchboard Art takes a lot of time to complete, especially if you desire precision and detail as I do, and there's not much room for mistakes.

These sizes are best suited for head and shoulder portraits.

I need clear photo(s) to work from.

I cannot draw it if I cannot see it.

Prices

Prices shown are for a single animal with no background, or very little.

The artwork is not matted and is unframed, unless requested and additional fees are agreed upon.

Artwork is in black and white only, no color.

Shipping is not included in prices shown.

5" x 7" = $250 (approx. 10 hours to complete)

8" x 10" = $375 (approx. 15 hours to complete)

(Other sizes can be discussed)

Sorry, but I do not accept checks.

Specifics

Commissioning a piece of art is a contract between the client and the artist.

Communication is a vital element, as is the clarity and quality of the photos provided to work from.

I am happy to look at your photos and answer any questions you may have so you can make a well informed decision about commissioning artwork.

Once you are comfortable with the process and ready to proceed, I will require a $75 non-refundable deposit to be paid prior to the start of the project.  If a photo needs to be cropped, I will get your approval of the new layout before starting.  During the creation of your art, if desired, up to three (3) status pictures will be provided.

When the work is completed, the remainder is due, along with shipping, based on estimate (to be provided).

Please allow a minimum of 2-4 weeks for completion of your art.

Final Notes

Examples shown on my website should give you a good idea of what to expect.

My goal is for you to be thrilled with your art.  If you have any special requests. please make them up front.  Scratchboard is not something that can be easily changed once it has been started.

After reviewing any photos or files provided to me, if I feel they are not adequate to create a wonderful piece of artwork, then I will let you know.

If you want prints as well as the original, they can be purchased now or later.  Note that although you are purchasing the original artwork, as with all art, the copyrights remain the artist's.
